NFB is currently seeking to fill the following positions:
Wardrobe Manager

JOB TITLE: Wardrobe Manager, Northwest Florida Ballet
Productions: The Nutcracker and Alice in Wonderland
Department: Costumes and Wardrobe
Location: 310 Perry Avenue SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL
Contract Dates:

  • Nutcracker: November 7 - 24 (plus possible additional weekend for pre-production fittings)
  • Alice in Wonderland (rented costumes): February 20 - March 9 (plus possible additional weekend for pre-production fittings)
  • Reports To: Artistic Director/CEO
  • Position Status: Seasonal Contract

Compensation: $4,000 per production, plus travel and housing expenses

Position Summary

The Wardrobe Manager is a seasonal contract position responsible for overseeing all costume preparations and wardrobe needs for Northwest Florida Ballet’s The Nutcracker and Alice in Wonderland productions. This role requires leadership of a volunteer committee, close collaboration with dancers and staff, and strong attention to detail in costume care and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fittings, oversee alterations, repairs, and general costume upkeep at both studio and theater.
  • Oversee pack-out, transport, and load-in/load-out of costumes, shoes, and accessories between the Costume Shop and theater.
  • Provide supply needs list to the Artistic Director.
  • Attend run-throughs as needed; in the studio with Director and observe dress rehearsals, take notes, and address costume issues when available.
  • Create and manage laundry lists for productions when required.
  • Prepare, touch up, and spray shoes before and during performances.
  • Assist with costume cleaning following performances.
  • Support the Artistic Director with rental costume inquiries, fittings, alterations, and packing/shipping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of professional wardrobe management experience in theater (preference given to dance experience).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong proficiency in both machine and hand sewing.
  • Experience working with fabric paint, dye, and related techniques.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by production schedules.
